Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO), a world center of excellence for cancer research based in Philadelphia, has organized a ‘Charity Gala Dinner’ in Vico Equense, a beautiful coastal town of Naples in Southern Italy, at Le Axidie Resort, on the 16th of June 2022 8 p.m. onwards.
Professor Antonio Giordano, MD, Ph.D., Founder & Director of the Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO), announced that the proceeds collected during the event will be used to finance a research project on breast cancer, one of the most common cancers affecting women worldwide.
“For years,” says Professor Antonio Giordano of the SHRO, “our center has financed scientific research and developed technologies that have become fundamental in the fight against cancer; it also offered, and still does, the opportunity to many young and established researchers to work in an independent, healthy and competitive environment.”
The event, anchored by the Neapolitan Actor, Imitator Vincenzo De Lucia, will be honoring four personalities from the world of Business, Health, and Institutions for their commitment to their respective work; names as follows:
1. Pierpaolo Sileri, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Health
2. Federico Cafiero De Raho, Magistrate, and Former National Anti-Mafia Prosecutor
3. Michelino De Laurentiis, Oncologist at the National Cancer Institute " Pascale Foundation"
4. Antonio Giacomini, Chief Executive Officer of the Innoway Group
Mr. Giancarlo Arra, Vice President of Sbarro Health Research Organization (SHRO), shares his views about these awards: “We have decided to reward four personalities who have particularly distinguished themselves in various fields and who are linked by a common denominator: ‘the greater good”. He further adds, “I am delighted with the attention and active response I have received from the institutions and entrepreneurs who have decided to follow us in this project. SHRO’s goal is to invest in the local area and also bring the know-how developed in the United States to Italy.” Mr. Giancarlo Arra, VP of SHRO, is at the forefront of the upcoming opening of a Center for Sbarro Research in Italy.
The Charity Gala Dinner event is filled with playful moments during the evening including, songs of one of the greatest interpreters of Neapolitan music, the maestro Enzo Gragnaniello, the dinner served by the star chef Peppe Guida of the Antica Osteria Nonna Rosa in Vico Equense, in collaboration with the chef of the Axidie Resorts Raffaele Galasso, who will follow the poolside aperitif with pizzas by Giuseppe Maglione of the Daniele Gourmet pizzeria. The choice of wines will be entrusted to the La Fortezza winery, an excellence of the land of Torrecuso of Benevento province.
